Rental Car Mileage Limits in Türkiye: How Many Km Do You Get per Day?
The mileage limit on rental cars in Türkiye depends on the company and the car; 92% of offers allow 250 to 500 km a day. On 13 October 2026 we looked at 1,876 offers from 45 companies on our platform: the most common allowance is 400 km a day, a quarter of the offers give 500 km a day, and a fifth stay at 250 km or less. What is a mileage limit and how is it calculated?
The mileage limit is the total distance you can drive the car at no extra cost during the rental period. Companies usually set it as daily allowance × number of days: with a car that has a 400 km daily allowance, you can drive a total of 1,200 km on a 3-day rental. The allowance counts across the whole rental; driving less one day and more the next is not a problem.
If you go over the limit, the company charges an extra fee for every km over. This charge and its amount vary from company to company; they are listed in the details of the car you choose and in the rental agreement. When you pick up and return the car, check that the odometer reading is recorded correctly on the handover report.

Km allowance by car class
For economy, midsize, SUV and premium cars, the most common allowance is 400 km a day. For minivans, the median allowance drops to 300 km a day, while in the luxury class it rises to 500 km. Even within the same class, allowances differ by up to 2 times between companies, so if you see the same model at two companies, check the km allowance too.

The km allowance drops on longer rentals
The longer the rental, the lower the daily allowance. In a 30-day search (20 October–19 November) at five major airports, the most common allowance was 4,000 km a month, or about 133 km a day. 5 tips to stay within the mileage limit
- Work out your route first. Istanbul–Izmir is about 480 km by road, and Istanbul–Antalya about 700 km. Add the return trip and driving around the city.
- Compare offers together with their km allowance. An offer that looks cheap can end up costing more because of excess mileage charges if its allowance is low.
- Consider a one-way rental. If you are travelling one way between cities, dropping the car off at your destination removes the km of the return trip. We measured one-way fees in our guide to one-way rentals between cities.
- Record the km at pickup. Take a photo of the odometer reading on the pickup and return reports.
- Find out the excess mileage charge in advance. Note the per-km charge listed in the car details; if it is unclear, ask before you book.
